Happy Home for the Handicapped

Our Story

Long before the official beginning of Happy Home for the Handicapped in 2003, two families from different parts of the world were brought together by fate. Irene, a courageous woman from India, faced unimaginable challenges after the tragic loss of her husband. Meanwhile, Bob and Kristin Roach from Oregon were navigating their own struggles with their premature son. Their paths crossed at Johns Hopkins, where they learned about Irene's plight and began to support her. This financial assistance enabled Irene to open her doors to homeless, disabled children, ultimately leading to the establishment of Happy Home for the Handicapped, which now provides a loving home for over 120 children.

Impact

Over the past decade, hundreds of children have found a safe haven with Happy Home. Lives have been transformed as children, widows, and the homeless receive the care and support they desperately need.
