The Hansen Foundation for Education was founded by Emily Q. Hansen after her life-changing experience teaching in Kenya. Witnessing the struggles of students at Irigithathi Primary School, she launched a scholarship program to help eighth graders transition to Irigithathi Secondary School. The foundation has since broadened its mission to include a Boarding School program, supporting numerous scholars in their educational journeys.
In 2019, the Hansen Foundation successfully raised funds to support 35 scholars, enabling them to pursue secondary education and beyond, fostering community development.
