Founded in 1974, HandsOn River Region began as the Voluntary Action Center, emerging from a community study by the Junior League of Montgomery. Over the years, it has evolved, merging with the Points of Light Foundation in 2007 to enhance volunteer management across the region.
HandsOn River Region manages the 2-1-1 Information and Referral Helpline, coordinates disaster preparedness, and combats homelessness through data-driven services.
