Our Story
Founded in 1998 by Neil Eggers and Patti Rice, Hands On Birmingham was created to connect individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities. Over the years, the organization has evolved, merging with United Way of Central Alabama in 2009 and joining the Hands On Network. Today, it serves as a vital resource for over 6,700 volunteers, facilitating impactful service projects throughout the year.

With a mission to foster positive social change, Hands On Birmingham has mobilized more than 8,400 volunteers in the past year alone, making a significant difference in the community.
