Our Story

Founded in 1974, the Hampton Roads Utility & Heavy Contractors Association (HRUHCA) emerged from the need for a unified voice in the rapidly growing heavy construction industry of Hampton Roads. Originally known as the Tidewater Utility Contractors Association, it has evolved to advocate for improved construction standards and community initiatives, including a dedicated scholarship foundation for the children of its members.

Our Impact

HRUHCA has played a pivotal role in shaping regional construction standards, facilitating over a billion dollars in infrastructure projects across municipalities in Hampton Roads. The association's commitment to education is evident through the distribution of over $110,000 in scholarships to members' children.
