Empowering The Physically Disabled

Our Story

Founded in 1998 by Paralympian Mike Doyle, the Hammerheads Sled Hockey Association is the first sled hockey team in the Delaware Valley. With a mission to empower the physically disabled, the organization provides barrier-free access to the competitive sport of sled hockey. Players come from diverse backgrounds, including South Jersey and the Jersey Shore regions, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.

Impact

Currently, the Hammerheads proudly support 16 youth players and 21 adult players. Notable athletes include Gabby Graves-Wake, the current US Women’s National Sled Team goalie, and Tim Jones, a gold medalist from the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics.
