Our Story
In July of 1965, a group of passionate Noblesville residents came together to form the Hamilton County Theatre Guild. Their journey began with a simple gathering to read plays, which quickly evolved into a vibrant community theater. The Guild's inaugural production, 'Ah, Wilderness!', captivated an audience of over 500 in February 1966, marking the start of a rich tradition of theatrical excellence.
In December 1968, the Guild purchased the former Emmanuel United Methodist Church, transforming it into The Belfry, a dedicated space for performances. Over the years, the venue has undergone numerous enhancements, including the addition of stage lighting, a lobby, and dressing rooms, ensuring that it remains a hub for creativity and community engagement.
With a legacy of successful productions and a commitment to the arts, the Hamilton County Theatre Guild continues to thrive, thanks to the unwavering support of its audiences, patrons, sponsors, and season ticket holders.
