Our Story

Founded in 1873, the Hamilton County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, known as SPCA Cincinnati, has a rich history of serving the Greater Cincinnati community. Originally established as the Ohio Humane Society, it was the first organization of its kind in Ohio. Over the past 150 years, SPCA Cincinnati has built a culture of trust and leadership, positively impacting the lives of over 25,000 homeless pets in the last five years alone.
