Our Story

In 2000, a dedicated group of Hamilton County residents recognized the pressing housing needs within their community. This concern led to the formation of a housing task force aimed at enhancing the quality of life through housing preservation and neighborhood revitalization. Following a comprehensive Hamilton County Needs Assessment, the Hamilton County Area Neighborhood Development, Inc. (HAND) was established in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since then, HAND has been at the forefront of providing essential housing services, including an owner-occupied home rehabilitation program and the development of affordable single-family homes for moderate-income buyers.

Our Impact

HAND is committed to addressing the housing needs of low- and moderate-income individuals, families, and senior citizens in the northern suburbs of Indianapolis, promoting diversity and inclusion by closing the housing affordability gaps.
