Founded in 1984 by Dr. Jean Tropnas and dedicated mental health professionals, the Haitian American Psychiatric Association Inc. (HAPA) addresses the critical need for mental health awareness in Haitian communities both in the United States and Haiti. Under the leadership of Dr. Dimitry Francois, HAPA is committed to enhancing the quality of mental health care through education and community engagement.
HAPA has successfully provided financial support to numerous organizations and leaders during community relief efforts, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic and the aftermath of the 2021 earthquake in Haiti.
