Founded in 1997 by Captain Bill Sheehan, Hackensack Riverkeeper is dedicated to protecting, preserving, and restoring the Hackensack River. This vital waterway supports both the community and wildlife that depend on it. Through environmental action, advocacy, education, and litigation, Hackensack Riverkeeper defends the Public Trust resources of the Hackensack River watershed.
