Our Story

Founded in 2006 by passionate Brooklyn activists, HabitatMap was created to harness technology for community organizing. The organization focuses on cleaning up Newtown Creek and addressing health concerns in surrounding neighborhoods. With the launch of AirCasting and the AirBeam, HabitatMap has expanded its mission to provide tools for environmental advocacy.

HabitatMap has established one of the largest open-source databases of community-collected air quality measurements, enabling communities to fight for clean air and environmental justice.
