Building Homes, Changing Lives

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County has been a beacon of hope since its inception in 1988. Initially run entirely by volunteers, the organization has grown to employ a dedicated team of 20 staff members, all committed to the mission of providing affordable housing. Over the past 36 years, Habitat has successfully built over 233 homes, providing shelter for more than 863 individuals, including 493 children. The organization is currently constructing an average of 8-10 homes each year, with 14 families actively participating in their programs.

With the completion of neighborhoods like Cedar Chase and Trail View, and the ongoing development of Osage Place, Habitat for Humanity is making significant strides in creating sustainable communities. The first phase of Osage Place is already home to 13 families, with plans for 30 more homes in the future. This commitment to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing is at the heart of Habitat's mission.
