Habitat NYC and Westchester is dedicated to building and preserving affordable homes for families in need. Since its inception in 1984, this organization has united New Yorkers around the cause of affordable housing, serving over 2,600 families across the five boroughs. The journey began with the first-ever Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and since then, thousands of volunteers have joined the mission to close New York’s racial homeownership gap.
