Our Story

Habitat for Cats began in the mid-1990s with a passionate group of individuals in Southeastern Massachusetts committed to caring for feral and abandoned cats. Established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in April 1997, the organization has expanded its programs to focus on reducing the overpopulation of homeless cats through effective Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and adoption initiatives.

Impact

Over the past decade, approximately 3,900 cats have been spayed or neutered, and more than 10,000 cats and kittens have found refuge through Habitat for Cats. The organization has been recognized with the Maritime International Community Service Award for two consecutive years, underscoring its vital contributions to the community.
