Originally known as the 'Center,' the organization evolved into the Young People's Support Center before adopting the name HUGS in 1989. Over the years, HUGS has expanded its reach, providing essential emotional and financial support to families across the state.
HUGS serves children in Hawaii, from birth to 21 years, diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, cardiac issues, and chromosomal defects. The organization offers comprehensive, long-term support to ensure families do not face these challenges alone.
