Our Story

In January 2007, the H.O.O.P. Foundation began its journey by recruiting 10 male youths from Hillcrest Continuation High School in Inglewood, California, to form a basketball team. Initially practicing in the New Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church gymnasium, the program quickly gained popularity, expanding from 10 to 25 participants within just a few months. Over the years, the foundation has successfully organized various leagues and tournaments, including the Slam-Jam Basketball Tournament and the Redondo Beach Parks and Recreation Adult League, serving as a beacon of hope and opportunity for local youth.

Impact

The H.O.O.P. Foundation has positively impacted over 2,500 youth, ages 5-18, in Inglewood and South Los Angeles. By providing healthy alternatives, the foundation fosters personal and academic growth, enhancing physical, social, and moral development.

Why Donate?

Your generous donation of $250.00 sponsors one youth for an entire year, covering 50+ games, a HOOP travel bag, a t-shirt, and a uniform. This support is vital for at-risk youth to access essential programs that promote their overall development and success.
