About Guilford Performing Arts Festival

Founded in January 2017 by William Boughton, the Guilford Performing Arts Festival aims to celebrate the rich tapestry of American arts and culture. The inaugural festival took place later that year, featuring 44 live performances and workshops across 17 venues over four vibrant days in mid-October. Since receiving nonprofit certification in July 2018, the festival has commissioned eleven new works in music, dance, and drama, showcasing the depth and breadth of artistic expression.

Impact on the Community

With an estimated $1.4 million positive impact on the local economy, the festival has drawn approximately 12,000 attendees and provided educational opportunities through workshops and master classes for over 700 students of all ages.
