After facing challenges such as expulsion from school and homelessness, Shanel earned her G.E.D. and a Bachelor's degree from Indiana State University. Inspired by her experiences, G.L.A.M. was established to empower at-risk young women through mentoring and education.
G.L.A.M. has transformed the lives of over 1,000 girls, achieving an impressive 97% high school graduation rate among participants, compared to the typical 35% for at-risk youth. This success has paved the way for many to pursue higher education and build brighter futures.
