Our Story
The Guatemalan Student Support Group was founded in 2003 by John Bodoh, a retired university administrator who recognized the urgent need for better educational opportunities in impoverished areas of Guatemala. GSSG identifies promising students from rural areas and provides them with scholarships for high school and college, along with workshops to develop their academic skills and leadership qualities.
Impact
GSSG has successfully supported students in obtaining college degrees in various fields, including Business, Nursing, Education, Medicine, Law, and Environmental Science. The organization also facilitates community service initiatives that empower students to give back to their communities.
Why Donate?
Donating to GSSG helps provide scholarships for students who would otherwise be unable to afford education, transforming their lives and their communities. Contributions support not only tuition but also essential resources like school supplies and transportation, ensuring that students can focus on their studies and succeed academically.
