Our Story
Founded in the early 1970s by Minister Howard Conn of Plymouth Congregational Church, Groveland Food Shelf began as a grassroots effort to combat hunger in the local community. Initially serving 300 individuals each month, the food shelf has grown significantly, now providing essential food support to over 5,000 clients monthly. This growth is made possible through the unwavering support of local churches, including Westminster Presbyterian Church, First Christian Church, and St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, who have been foundational partners in this mission.
