In December 2012, a local steering committee initiated the establishment of a Groundwork trust in Indianapolis. Following site assessments and funding approval in December 2013, a strategic plan was developed to create Groundwork Indy. Officially launched in April 2015, the organization focuses on revitalizing the Northwest Area through community-based environmental projects.
Groundwork Indy employs community-driven strategies to revitalize neighborhoods, enhancing healthy communities, brownfields, greenways, and youth development.
