Groundhog Archeology Inc, known as the Mary Street Midden Project, was born from an unexpected discovery by Patrick Donley, who unearthed a 19th-century midden beneath his studio, thanks to a curious groundhog named Phyllis. Since 2019, thousands of artifacts have been excavated from this site, revealing the daily lives of families and businesses in Germantown from the 1870s to 1920.
