Our Story

Established in 1967, the Groton Open Space Association is committed to conserving and preserving open spaces and recreational areas in Southeastern Connecticut. Formed in response to local development pressures, GOSA works tirelessly to protect local forests, streams, and wildlife by acquiring, improving, and maintaining open space properties for community use.

Impact

GOSA has successfully protected numerous local properties, providing the community with access to nature for passive recreation and education. Their efforts foster an appreciation of nature and contribute to the conservation of local ecosystems.

Why Donate?

Donating to GOSA supports the mission to protect open space, restore local habitats, and improve the Long Island Sound watershed. Contributions fund land acquisition, habitat restoration projects, and community educational programs, ensuring the natural beauty of Southeastern Connecticut is preserved for future generations.
