Our Story

In 2000, Doug and Julie Stotlar faced an unimaginable tragedy when their 6-year-old daughter, Lauren, was killed in a school bus accident. In their search for grief support, they discovered that traditional options like support groups and therapy did not meet their needs. They found solace in connecting with other families who had experienced similar losses. This journey led to the founding of GrieveWell in 2010, which evolved into a nonprofit organization in 2017, dedicated to providing meaningful support for those navigating grief.

GrieveWell is committed to fostering a community that encourages healthy grieving and healing. By offering resources and support to adults in grief, the organization aims to surround individuals with hope and healthy practices, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives after loss.
