For over 30 years, the Greyhound Adoption Center has dedicated itself to rescuing and rehabilitating greyhounds, ensuring that each dog receives the love and care it deserves. Located in Lakeside, California, this nonprofit organization has transformed the lives of thousands of greyhounds, providing them with a safe haven and a chance for a brighter future.

Our Journey

Founded in 1987, the Greyhound Adoption Center began with a mission to save as many greyhounds as possible. Through experience and dedication, the organization has learned that the quality of care is just as important as the number of dogs saved. Initially facing challenges in housing and medical care, GAC took a leap of faith and established a volunteer-built shelter on 3.5 acres of land. This facility now houses around 50 dogs, providing them with a clean, comfortable, and climate-controlled environment.
