Our Story
Since 2004, Greenspace Dallas has been dedicated to restoring and enhancing urban greenspaces in the Trinity River Corridor. The journey began with the revitalization of Hines Park, a once-neglected area littered with debris. This vision expanded to the 110-acre Frasier Dam Recreation Area, transforming a former illegal dumping ground into a vibrant urban forest. The ongoing restoration of the L.B. Houston Nature Trail envisions a 295-acre park that serves as an urban haven for hiking, biking, birdwatching, and picnicking, reconnecting the community with nature.
Our Impact
Greenspace Dallas has made significant strides in transforming the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, breathing new life into neglected parks, trails, and waterways. Over a million pounds of debris, trash, and tires have been cleared, paving the way for thriving urban forests. This restoration acts as a catalyst for the resurgence of native flora and fauna, including egrets, blue herons, and diverse aquatic life. Educational initiatives nurture a new generation of environmental advocates, ensuring a sustainable future.
