Our Story

In 1965, Indiana’s Governor Roger Branigin inspired local leaders to celebrate the state’s 150th anniversary. August (Bud) Hook, Chairman of Hook’s Drugstore, created a unique exhibit that honored his family’s legacy by recreating a late 1800s drugstore. This initiative blossomed into the Greenfield Museum, a cherished institution that has welcomed over three million visitors since its inception.

Impact

Today, the Museum attracts over 60,000 visitors each State Fair, fostering a deep appreciation for pharmacy history. The soda fountain and gift shop have seen sales triple since 2004, reflecting the Museum's growing popularity and community engagement.
