For two sisters, Jan and Joanna, the journey of greeNest began in a home where resourcefulness was a way of life. Inspired by their mother’s creativity, they learned the value of reusing and repurposing everyday items. With the artistic vision of an artist and the dedication of a high school history teacher, they found their calling in helping families transition into sustainable housing.

With the support of Beth Smoot, co-founder of The Green Chair Project in Raleigh, greeNest collects gently used items and organizes them for families in need. This initiative allows those transitioning from crisis to stable housing to select furnishings that resonate with them, creating a welcoming home environment.
