Empowering Communities Through Education and Economic Opportunity

The Greater West Town Community Development Project is dedicated to building a community-based response that expands educational and economic opportunities for low-income communities of color in Chicago. Focused on the West Side neighborhoods of Humboldt Park, East and West Garfield Park, Belmont Cragin, Austin, and North Lawndale, GWTP develops programs that serve as practical, model solutions to the challenges faced by these communities.

Impacting Lives Since 1988

Since its inception, GWTP has trained, supported, and placed nearly 10,000 residents and dislocated workers into sustainable employment. The organization has established training programs that connect local workers with over 450 companies, providing essential job placement services and vocational training.
