Fields of Dreams

Our Story

Established in 2001, Fields of Dreams (FoD) is an initiative of A Greater Washington, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. For over 20 years, FoD has provided free afterschool and summer programming to approximately 3,300 children ages 5-12 in some of the most underserved communities in Washington, D.C. The program is centered on the values that guided Jackie Robinson's life, using the book 'Jackie's Nine' to model and encourage youth. FoD collaborates with District of Columbia Public Schools to implement programs across Ward 7 and 8, focusing on tutoring, mentoring, and coaching.

Impact

Fields of Dreams has positively impacted the lives of approximately 3,300 children in underserved communities by providing free afterschool and summer programs that blend athletics with character development and academics.
