Our Story

Founded in 2022, the Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance (GPCA) emerged from the strategic merger of United Communities and Diversified Community Services, two organizations with deep roots in South Philadelphia. With a legacy tracing back to the settlement house movement of the late 19th century, GPCA has been integral to the community for over a century, supporting a diverse population that includes African American, Southeast Asian, and Latino communities.

Our Impact

At GPCA, the commitment extends beyond short-term fixes. The organization focuses on nurturing stable family environments and providing robust resources that drive lasting change. With over $250,000 in emergency rental assistance and $225,000 in utility assistance distributed to 550 individuals, GPCA is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty from the ground up.
