Our Story

In 2002, a coalition of Ohio foundations, led by the Gund Foundation, recognized the urgent need to address urban sprawl and unsustainable development. By 2004, the Greater Ohio Campaign was launched as a bipartisan initiative aimed at promoting smart growth and economic redevelopment policies. In 2007, this campaign evolved into the Greater Ohio Policy Center (GOPC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing Ohio's legacy cities and communities through research, consulting, and advocacy.

Our Impact

GOPC has successfully facilitated the creation of over 21,000 permanent jobs and more than 20,000 construction jobs, significantly enhancing community revitalization efforts across Ohio.
