Our Story
In November 2014, a series of articles by the High Point Enterprise highlighted the alarming food insecurity in the High Point Community. The Greensboro-High Point Metropolitan Statistical Area ranked second in the nation for food hardship. This revelation sparked a movement among citizens from diverse backgrounds—business leaders, academics, community activists, and individuals who had faced food insecurity themselves. Together, they organized the first-ever Food Summit in High Point, setting 32 actionable goals to combat hunger. Remarkably, every single goal was achieved, marking the beginning of a transformative journey towards alleviating food insecurity in the region.
