Our Story
The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative is a binational coalition of over 240 U.S. and Canadian mayors and local officials, founded in 2003 by Mayor Richard M. Daley of Chicago and Mayor David Miller of Toronto. This organization is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River Basin, a vital resource for drinking water and regional economic health.
Our Impact
