Our Story
The Great Burn Conservation Alliance began in the early 1970s when a group of University of Montana students embarked on a summer adventure in an old school bus. Their mission was to document the unique flora, fauna, and natural resources of the Great Burn, a hidden gem in the Northern Rockies. This grassroots effort laid the foundation for the Great Burn Conservation Alliance, which has since dedicated itself to the protection of this vital ecosystem through education, advocacy, and stewardship.
