Gray Matter Experience

Our Story

Founded by CEO Britney Robbins, The Gray Matter Experience emerged from a deep understanding of the barriers faced by Black entrepreneurs. Growing up in a family of business owners, Robbins witnessed the struggles of accessing resources and support. Her experiences in venture capital and nonprofits highlighted the lack of representation and opportunity for Black leaders in entrepreneurship. This inspired the creation of The Gray Matter Experience, aimed at closing the support gap and amplifying the values of creativity, innovation, and culture within the Black community.

Our Impact

Since 2016, The Gray Matter Experience has empowered over 2,000 young Black individuals, investing more than $100,000 in seed funding and pro bono services. By supporting 113 impact-driven entrepreneurs, the organization is actively working to narrow the racial wealth gap and foster economic equity.
