Founded in 2003, the Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island (GCRI) serves as a vital network for grantmaking organizations. By providing capacity building, professional development, and networking opportunities, GCRI empowers philanthropic staff to enhance their impact. The organization has expanded its outreach to engage various stakeholders in community investment, fostering collaboration and cross-sector partnerships. In 2015, a partnership with United Way of Rhode Island significantly increased GCRI's ability to support the philanthropic sector, connecting nonprofits with essential resources and national networks.
