Our Story

Founded in 1988, Grand Canyon River Guides is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River. With a strong commitment to the communities surrounding these natural wonders, GCRG fosters a community of river stewardship and environmental education.

Our Impact

GCRG has played a pivotal role in advocacy efforts, contributing to the Glen Canyon Dam Environmental Impact Statement and the Grand Canyon Protection Act. The organization also preserves the rich oral histories of river runners and provides valuable educational resources through its journal, the Boatman's Quarterly Review.
