Our Story

Founded in 2009 by Kenneth and Grace Smith, Grace Mar Services Inc began as a nonprofit housing counseling organization. With a mission to build stronger, more resilient communities of color, the organization has evolved to include a software company, leadership and training division, and consulting firm. Over the years, Grace Mar has garnered significant support, including a $1.5 million grant from the US Department of Labor, enabling it to expand its impact in workforce development and economic growth.

Impact

Grace Mar Services has been recognized with numerous awards for its contributions to workforce development and community service, including the 2012 NAHRO Award and the 2022 Spirit of Fatherhood Award from Mecklenburg County.
