Our Story

Founded in 1976 by Pat Stokes, Grace House of Memphis was established to provide a safe haven for women battling alcoholism. For over 45 years, this nonprofit has dedicated itself to ensuring that no woman is turned away due to her financial situation. Today, Grace House offers a comprehensive range of gender-specific, long-term residential and outpatient treatment services, addressing the unique challenges faced by women affected by substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Impact

In the past year, approximately 99% of the women treated at Grace House were indigent, with over 65% reporting homelessness. Since its inception, Grace House has positively impacted the lives of over 6,000 women, maintaining continuous CARF accreditation since 2003, which underscores its commitment to quality care.
