Constructed in 1913, the historic Hotel Halbrook in Downtown Dickson, Tennessee, opened its doors to the public in April 1914. This railroad hotel served as a vital hub until its closure in 1954. Notably, on June 2, 1920, Frank G. Clement, the 41st Governor of Tennessee, was born at this site. During his decade-long tenure, Clement championed modernization across the state, implementing extensive reforms in education, infrastructure, and civil rights.
Today, the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum stands as a testament to his legacy, featuring 11 permanent exhibits that delve into the rich history of Dickson County, the American Civil War, the railroad's impact, the Civil Rights Movement, and the life of Governor Clement himself.
