Our Story

Vista Prairie Communities (VPC) began its journey in 1997 as the Governmental and Educational Assistance Corporation (GEAC), founded by a dedicated group focused on developing low- and moderate-income housing. Over the years, the organization evolved, transitioning from outsourcing management functions to directly operating senior living communities. In 2008, GEAC rebranded as Vista Prairie Communities, reflecting a renewed commitment to care, service, and innovation.

Our Mission

Under the leadership of President and CEO Jim Bettendorf, VPC has embraced a mission to serve those who entrust us with their lives, health, and well-being. With ten senior living communities across Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio, VPC offers a range of services including Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, Care Suites, and Respite Care.
