Feral Cat Sanctuary

Our Story

Founded by Elizabeth Newsom in 2001, Gotham City Kitties began as a grassroots effort to rescue cats in Dumbo, Brooklyn, following the events of 9/11. Over the years, GCK has rescued more than 1,600 cats, focusing on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) to manage feral populations and reduce euthanasia rates in North Carolina.

Our Impact

Gotham City Kitties has made significant strides in improving the lives of feral cats, particularly in Union County, which has the highest kill rate in North Carolina. By advocating for TNR and providing sanctuary for those in need, GCK aims to create a no-kill state.
