About GRACE

Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Grace Center (GRACE) was founded to provide exceptional care for rescued Grauer’s gorillas and to collaborate with local Congolese communities in conserving wild gorillas and their habitats. Since its inception in 2003, GRACE has evolved into a sanctuary and conservation center, focusing on community-led conservation initiatives.

Impact of GRACE

GRACE has successfully rehabilitated numerous Grauer’s gorillas and engaged over 63,000 community members in conservation education and sustainable livelihood programs. The organization has protected 500,000 acres of forest habitat, establishing the world’s only sanctuary for rescued Grauer’s gorillas, significantly contributing to the conservation of this critically endangered species.
