Goodwill Lubbock
EIN: 75-1245440 · Lubbock, TX
Our Story
Founded in 1902 by Rev. Edgar J. Helms, Goodwill began as a response to high unemployment and economic uncertainty. By collecting donated goods and providing them to those in need, Rev. Helms recognized that traditional charity was not enough. This led to the establishment of the first Goodwill Store, where individuals were hired to earn paychecks and gain independence.
Impact
In 2015, Goodwill Industries of Lubbock served over 18,586 individuals, placing 202 people into jobs through their Career Resource Center Program. This impact continues to grow, transforming lives across the South Plains and Panhandle Region of Texas.
