Since 1973, Goodwill Industries of Erie, Huron, Ottawa and Sandusky Counties has been dedicated to transforming lives through the power of work. The organization traces its roots back to 1902, when Edgar J. Helms, a compassionate Methodist minister, began collecting unwanted garments from wealthier neighborhoods to provide jobs and skills to those in need. This innovative approach not only restored items but also restored dignity and hope to countless individuals.

Making a Significant Impact

In 2021 alone, Goodwill placed 48 individuals in jobs and served over 16,000 people through more than 33,000 services. With 7 retail locations, 2 factory locations, and 2 vocational habilitation centers, Goodwill employs over 450 individuals, making a profound impact in the local communities of Erie, Huron, Ottawa, and Sandusky Counties.
