Our Story

Founded in 1983 by Pastor Charlie Grant, Good Shepherd of Northern Virginia began with a simple act of kindness—opening a home to the homeless. This compassionate gesture led to the establishment of the region's first organized homeless shelter, the Loudoun County Emergency Housing Alliance. Over the years, Good Shepherd has expanded its reach, acquiring properties and developing a dedicated team to address both immediate housing needs and the root causes of homelessness.

Our Impact

Good Shepherd serves as a sanctuary for those in crisis, providing shelter and essential support. With over 75% of participants achieving long-term self-sufficiency, the organization is committed to fostering independence through comprehensive programs.
