Our Story

Founded in early 2020, Good Neighbors began when Heather and Tim recognized the alarming amount of perfectly usable food being discarded by local businesses. During the pandemic, Heather connected with over 125 businesses and organizations to collect surplus food and distribute it to those in need. With the help of over 100 dedicated volunteers, Good Neighbors has grown to serve over 1,000 people weekly in Florida and has expanded to New York, reaching underserved communities.

Our Impact

Good Neighbors has significantly improved feeding programs for local organizations, increasing meal distribution from 500 to over 4,500 meals monthly for one ministry. Another ministry serving the homeless has ramped up from 30 meals a day to around 1,000 meals a week, primarily needing only bottled water. Monthly, Good Neighbors serves approximately 50 communities through food giveaways, allowing residents to select what they need.
