Our Story

Good Mews Animal Foundation was officially established in 1988, but its roots trace back to a pivotal moment in the early 1980s. Founder Gloria Skeen, inspired by her experiences with animal abuse, took in two stray cats, Sarah and Emily, who changed her life forever. A serendipitous inheritance allowed her to turn her passion into a reality, leading to the creation of a safe haven for cats in need.

Impact on the Community

Since its inception, Good Mews has successfully placed over 11,000 cats in loving homes. With an average adoption rate of 600 cats per year, the organization ensures that every resident receives extensive medical care. No cat is ever euthanized to make room for another unless their quality of life is severely compromised.
